From technical drawings to colour grades.

Aprture started with a career change. I spent twelve years at an engineering firm, finishing as manager of the design department. That job taught me that detail is everything, and that the right tools make good work look effortless.

When I left to build my own businesses, I picked up a camera. The footage never felt like the films I loved, and most of the looks I tried were heavy-handed or fell apart on real clips.

So Aprture is built the way I wanted my own tools to be: looks tested on real footage from the cameras people actually use, texture scanned from real film, and free conversion LUTs so every grade starts in the right place. Made for anyone who wants their footage to feel like a film.

SC 02 · How we make them

Real film. Real footage.

01Shot, not fakedBurns, scratches, dust and grain are shot on real film stock and scanned. Nothing is generated in software.
02Tested on real footageEvery look is graded on real clips from real cameras: iPhone, GoPro, drone, mirrorless and cinema.
03Free where it mattersConversion LUTs for every major camera are free, because a grade only works on a properly converted clip.
04Real humansStuck? A real person replies Mon to Fri, usually within 2 hours.
